Submit a Tool for Review

Request a DPIA and compliance review for a digital tool you'd like to use in your school. You'll receive a reference number once submitted.

About the review process

When you submit a tool request it enters a GDPR and IT Security review. Here is what to expect:

  1. Initial review - EL Digital review your submission. They will either approve it to progress or recommend an existing alternative.
  2. Privacy assessment - A Data Protection Assessment (DPA or DPiA) is completed for the tool, covering how it handles personal data.
  3. IT Security checks - The tool is assessed against CEC IT Security requirements.
  4. Sign-off and approval - The assessment is reviewed and approved by the appropriate authority. If declined, no use or contract can proceed.
  5. Available to schools - Once approved, the tool is registered and added to the list of available resources. You will be notified when it is cleared for use.

This process ensures all tools used in CEC schools meet GDPR and IT Security requirements.
